The Apartment

View from our room of the dilapidated villa next door.

The girls' room.

The full bath . . . there is also a half bath next to the living room.

The kitchen . . . the refrigerator is double the size of the one we had in our apartment in Germany . . . we even have a dishwasher.

Dining and living areas, with the laundry and half-bath tucked behind where you see the ironing board.

Our apartment is located in section one of Bucharest, which is the very nicest part of the city. We are across the street from the very large park, with lakes, gardens and such. There are old villas mixed in with the newer apartment complexes. Some are getting fixed up while others are overgrown with foliage. It's easy to imagine how beautiful it was in its prime before world war two and communism. This area is called "little Paris", and even has its own arc de triumph in one of the round-abouts.
