Inspiration

There are two meeting houses in Bucharest. This is the Capela Panduri where we meet.

Camelia and her mother. Members for three years. They loved Elder Wilde (Mom: you'll have to tell his parents that the mission president said he was best of the best.)

Church is special here in Romania (oh, I guess it's special everywhere, but you know what I mean). There is just something instantly endearing about members in a country where the gospel is so relatively new. (The mission opened in 1990. Read about some earlier history of the church here.)

Yesterday there was a large group of American youth at church who performed a beautiful EFY medley: listen. Come to find out, these young adults were born in Romania and had been adopted by U.S. families. They had come to perform humanitarian service and some had met their birth mothers. Read about them here and here. After adopting Romanian children back in 1990, one of the adoptive families started a non-profit and they have made 33 trips back to the country. Just ordinary people helping fulfill extraordinary needs. It makes me wonder, am I "anxiously engaged"?

  1. Beautiful post, I'm sure you are going to find some great opportunities for service. Perhaps you can find some opportunities for the ladies in RS too.
